Mediating effectively under the Gauteng High Court Directive and Protocol: practical skills refinement – mediator professional development
The session aims to give mediators an opportunity to hear from experienced practitioners about how they deal with challenges under the GHC Directive and Protocol. Challenges may include:
- engaging with parties and their representatives in preparation discussions before the mediation;
- managing recalcitrant parties and representatives during the mediation;
- difficulties in managing the bargaining process and overcoming deadlock;
- managing procedural compliance, including the mediator report and second joint minute.
Our session will be an interactive experience featuring discussions, live demonstrations, and structured role-playing with peer coaching.
